ABOUT TIM

Tim started in model railroading over 40 years ago. Having his first Lionel train set at 6 years of age. Ever since the first toy train, Tim has had a love for trains and continued that love with his first HO layout in his early teens. Tim had built many layouts over the years but found a real joy in modeling in N scale. Tim has over 20 years in N scale layouts and through those years, much knowledge and skills has been attained and he wants to share that knowledge and skills with you. As he begins in his blogs, he will take you from the beginnings of getting started with information you need to know, like benchwork, different kinds of track, electrical, art work and even 3D printing to save you money on structures and building. He will guide you through ballasting your track, setting up lighting effects and all other aspects of N scale model railroading. Tim has adopted the Motto, “IT’S YOUR RAILROAD, YOUR RULES”.  The concept behind the motto is simple. On your adventure in N scale model railroading, you will see many other fantastic layouts. Maybe you saw one that inspired you to get into the hobby. The most valuable thing to remember is: Not everyone has the same skill, monetary funds, room or time to put into the hobby. What matters is that YOU have fun and enjoy what you have accomplished. If you like your layout, that is the only thing that matters. Your layout is special to you, be proud of your work and accomplishment.
